'Crossed the Line' campaign is supported by Bristol Rovers

The NHS Gambling campaign, "Crossed The Line," has received backing from Bristol Rovers, an EFL League One football team. 

The goal of the "Crossed the Line" campaign is to increase public awareness of the Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust's Gambling Service, which was introduced in the South West last year. 

The campaign's goals are to make gambling harm less stigmatised and to motivate more people to seek the necessary assistance. 

Launched last year in Bristol, the South West Gambling Service is now available to anyone residing in the South West who is 18 years of age or older. Group sessions, virtual sessions over the phone, and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy are all forms of support provided by the organisation. 

"The effects of harmful gambling are widespread, affecting people's relationships and health," stated Chris Gillmore, Clinical Lead at South West gaming Service. We shall endeavour to shield people from the negative effects of risky gambling, as statistics show that this is an issue that is getting worse. 

Other football-related CSR news from 2024 includes the Middlesbrough FC sponsor, Kindred Group, giving the MFC Foundation the front-of-short space on a match day in January instead of the customary Unibet branding. 

More recently, the Sky Bet EFL Building Foundations Fund this week revealed an increase in funding of £600,000 ($758,325) for various projects to benefit communities across Wales and England through grants.
