GiG will enter the Irish market by extending its collaboration with News UK.

Using cloud-based technologies, GiG is an iGaming company that provides platform services and marketing to industry partners.

News UK intends to host its own selection of casino and sports betting material via these platforms. Users of the Irish Sun website will be able to get all of the media in one location as there will be a dedicated section for anything relating to betting.

Back in December 2022, GiG and News UK announced their initial alliance. The intention was to create a cohesive casino and sports betting experience by combining GiG's specialised iGaming knowledge with The Sun's and talkSports' sizable user bases.

"The partnership and new betting hub adds to The Sun's growing digital portfolio and bolsters our suite of betting products," stated Tim Reynolds, Director of Betting & Gaming at The Sun, with regards to the original relationship.

"Our content output will increase as a result of our collaboration with GiG, and The Sun will be supported in its ongoing delivery of exceptional results for our bookmaker partners."

GiG and News UK have said that by the end of Q12023, they hope to expand into additional markets. Their initial goal is to join the US market and provide comparable items.

This follows the US's cautious but steady legalisation of internet sports betting.
